Saving Cyprus

Triple win solution for Saving Cyprus.

Britain could sell our two sovereign bases at Akrotiri and Dhekelia  to Russia for say £20 billion (or gas in lieu) and go halves with the locals thus wiping out their immediate debt problem without them losing any additional sovereignty.
Chancellor George gets a bonus £10 billion to waste on our behalf and we rid ourselves of a relic of Empire and while the Russians might seem to have finally achieved their centuries old ambition of a foothold in the Med  without any more messy wars all it really does is replace their base in Syria which they seem likely to lose some time soon.

Well reasoned - and nice to see you back. Where you been?

I just had a better idea, why not sell them half of each base then when the next war starts, the brits and rusks could save a fortune in logistics just by lobbing grenades at each other. And it would reduce the collateral damage as well!

Just a thought...

Banned, you could be the selling agent and get a nice fat commission.

Nice suggestion Dioclese, perhaps an even better solution would be to sell/lease one base to the Russians and the other to
the USA! Nice safe proxy war as and when required.

Hi Woody, I think my terms of 1% are more than reasonable.

Could never work - too well reasoned and practical.
